The SDSU College of Graduate Studies in collaboration with the Division of Research and Innovation awarded JDP student Alexandra (Lexie) Convertino and her mentor, Dr. Aaron Blashill the 2022-2023 Completion of Research and Creative Activity (CORE) Fellowship.
The CORE Fellowship supports the completion of the research component of a graduate student’s dissertation or thesis.
Lexie is interested in the role of stress and coping within the development of disordered eating. Her research interests primarily focus on sexual trauma and discrimination as it interacts with body image and self-esteem. The title of Lexie’s dissertation is “Stress as a Spectrum: Associations of Stress and Trauma with Disordered Eating”.
