We are proud to announce that SDSU/ UC San Diego JDP student Eduardo Hernandez Mozo (entering class of 2023) was selected to participate in one of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s leadership programs. Specifically, Eduardo was selected for the Health Policy Research Scholars program. The leadership program aims to train doctoral students to use discipline-based research training to advance health equity and create the next generation of researchers and health policymakers who enable everyone to live longer, healthier lives.

As the newest member of the program (cohort 8), Eduardo hopes to become a principal investigator with a focus on: 1) social determinants of cardiovascular and mental health among Latinx, LGBT+, and low-income populations; 2) using dissemination and implementation science and community-based participatory research methods to improve access to care and improve adherence to treatment; 3) translate evidence-based interventions into city/state/federal health policy.
