The Washington Post recently published an article titled “Why Millennials have sex with fewer partners than their parents did.” The article is based on the journal article by SDSU Psychology Professor Dr. Jean Twenge and former Master Student Brooke Wells that discusses “Changes in American Adults’ Sexual Behavior and Attitudes, 1972-2012.” The study finds that Baby Boomers had the most sexual partners at 11, followed by Generation X,born in the early 1960s to the early 1980s, while the Millennials, also known as Generation Y, are projected to have 8 partners. Dr. Jean Twenge theorizes that this could be due to the fact that the Millennials may be having “sex within a smaller circle of people.” Read the Washington Post article.
