Clinical Psychology doctoral student Jessica McCurley was selected for the International Congress of Psychology’s 2016 Emerging Psychologists Program [ Read more about ICP]. The goals of this program are to support international career development in the next generation of psychologists and offer an opportunity for young scientists in psychology from various countries to work together on topics of joint interest. The result of the award is that Jessica will be supported to attend the ICP meeting in Japan in July 2016, where she will present data from her doctoral dissertation in a symposium talk. Jessica’s dissertation research focuses on psychosocial, environmental, and behavioral risk factors for type 2 diabetes in migrants and deportees in Tijuana, Mexico.
