The rise of the Internet has produced a worldwide explosion of bullying and cyber-bullying. Bullying and cyber-bullying affect, not only the health and wellbeing of the child who is victimized, but also the victim’s peers and family, the perpetrator, the bystanders, the school, the community, and society at large.

This lecture focuses on signs of bullying; what teachers, students, and parents can do about bullying; bullying and children with special needs; cases involving bullying; and state laws designed to diminish bullying in the schools.
