Dr. Mark Ehrhart, an industrial/organizational psychology faculty member at SDSU, recently published the book Organizational Climate and Culture: An Introduction to Theory, Research, and Practice. The book is co-authored by Dr. Benjamin Schneider and Dr. William H. Macey, both of CEB, and published by Routledge. The book reviews the research literatures on organizational climate and organizational culture, two topics that both address the role of the work environment in organizations but that have co-existed for several decades with very little integration between them. The authors provide recommendations for how researchers can learn from and build on the strengths from both literatures, in addition to identifying how practitioners can utilize the key concepts in the two literatures when conducting organizational cultural inquiries and leading change efforts.
