About the Advising Office

The Psychology Advising Office assists undergraduate students in the psychology major, including the Industrial/Organizational and Neuroscience emphases, as well as students in one of our three minor tracks in psychology. We advise on various topics, such as class planning, degree completion, obtaining relevant experience, post-graduate planning, etc.

As the largest major on campus, our office is designed to assist students efficiently. While Dr. Sadler is listed as the official major advisor in Navigate, our peer advisors are extensively trained and capable of discussing declaring a psychology major or minor, degree/major requirements, scheduling classes, and post-graduate planning.

In most cases, our peer advisors can address your needs. However, if your situation requires the direct involvement of an advising director, they will be consulted during your session or, if unavailable, a follow up appointment will be scheduled. We want to ensure that all students receive the guidance they need in a timely and effective manner.

Scheduling an Appointment

Current SDSU students can schedule an appointment through SDSU Navigate. We primarily offer in-person appointments during the Fall/Spring terms, with a limited number of virtual appointments. You choose your preferred format when booking (based on availability).

To see all available appointment times, do not list a specific advisor in the “Staff” field and select the “COS: Psychology” location. If you are not currently declared with a psychology major or minor, you will need to select the “Major/Minor Exploration/Change” service to see our location.
