Dr. Gallo serves as Principal Investigator of the San Diego Field Center for the Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos (HCHS/SOL), a large, multi-site cohort study with over 15 years of follow-up and extensive phenotypic and genotypic data related to metabolic, cardiovascular, and pulmonary health. She has also led several NIH-funded clinical trials aimed at developing and testing interventions to prevent or manage diabetes and related conditions to improve U.S. population health.
