Dr. Sara Unsworth, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, was invited to speak at the Environmental Defense Fund’s Science Day symposium, “Using Social Science for the Environment,” on Wednesday, October 3.
The title of Dr. Unsworth’s lecture was “Cultural concepts of self and nature.” The audience for this symposium will be Environmental Defense Fund senior staff (primarily scientists, economists, laywers and policy experts), Trustees and interested donors. The goals of the day included exploring how the environmental movement can use social science insights to be more effective in achieving its environmental and social goals; and how to influence the social science research agenda such that it can better inform environmental policy.
