Stephanie DeAnda, a doctoral student in Language and Communicative Disorders, mentored by Dr. Margaret Friend, has just been awarded an F31 from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. Her project, Investigating lexical structure in monolingual and bilingual Spanish-Speaking children in the U.S., will be the basis for her dissertation research leading to the Ph.D. Congratulations are in order to Ms. DeAnda for developing a strong proposal and to SDSU for offering the training environment that helped to make this proposal successful.
