Bio

Dr. Goggin conducts community-based participatory health research with marginalized populations in a wide variety of settings including public healthcare, and faith- and community-based organizations in the US and sub-Saharan Africa.

Many of her studies have tested the utility of cognitive behavioral therapy and Motivational Interviewing (MI) inspired behavioral counseling strategies to promote health behavior change, especially in the context of HIV disease. Her collaborative work has had a significant impact on policy and practices at the local and country level.
