Dr. Miguel Villodas is a licensed psychologist and an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at San Diego State University. He has been involved in local advocacy in the child welfare system as a foster youth mentor, foster parent, and as a member of a number of advisory boards. Dr. Villodas is the recipient of The Early Career Award for Outstanding Contributions to Research / Practice in the Field of Child Maltreatment awarded by the American Psychological Association’s Division 37 (Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice) Section on Child Maltreatment. This annual award recognizes significant contributions to the field of child and family policy and practice by a researcher or practitioner who is within eight years of receiving a terminal degree.
Dr. Villodas was presented with the award at the 2018 APA Annual Convention.
